The 2025 Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) Finals concluded successfully in Riyadh, delivering a thrilling finale to a landmark season of elite international show-jumping.
Held from 30 October to 1 November 2025, the Finals brought together more than 50 of the world’s top riders, representing nearly 20 nations, to compete for the highest honors of the LGCT season. The event featured a total prize purse exceeding €10.5 million, spanning the LGCT Championship, GCL Championship, and the Riyadh Grand Prix classes.
The opening ceremony was attended by distinguished senior guests, including His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al-Faisal, who was welcomed by His Highness Prince Abdullah bin Fahad, Chairman of the Saudi Equestrian Federation, and joined by Their Serene Highnesses Prince Alexander of Liechtenstein and Prince Sébastien of Luxembourg.
The Individual Championship witnessed a historic achievement, as Gilles Thomas (Belgium) became the youngest-ever LGCT Champion, concluding a remarkable season with outstanding performances in Riyadh. The final standings were:
- Gilles Thomas (BEL) – 287 points
- Harrie Smolders (NED) – 246 points
- Andreas Schou (DEN) – 221 points
Our President & CEO, Mr. Fahad Abunayyan, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the Saudi Equestrian Federation, attended the Finals and noted that the successful staging of the event reflects the Federation’s continued commitment to advancing equestrian sport in the Kingdom and strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position on the global equestrian calendar.
