January marked a spectacular start to 2025 with the Fourth Edition Of Richard Mille’s Alula Desert Polo Cup. The prestigious event, attended by Members of the Royal Family, senior guests, and business leaders, showcased world-class polo competition in the heart of AlUla.
Our President & CEO, Fahad M. Abunayyan, attended the event in his capacity as the Vice Chairman of the Saudi Polo Federation. He was delighted to witness the event’s continued growth and international recognition, as well as to welcome, for the first time in Saudi Arabia, the Chairman of the International Polo Federation.
The event concluded with an exciting finale that drew record-breaking weekend audiences. Team Richard Mille—featuring Pablo MacDonough, Mohammed AlSewedy, and Clare Milford Haven—claimed the Desert Polo Trophy with an 8-6 victory over Team Ikmah (Nacho Figueras, Ploy Bhinsaeng, and HRH Prince Hamza bin Abbas). Meanwhile, Team Bentley (Poroto Cambiaso, HRH Sultan bin Khaled Al Faisal, and Sarah Siegel-Magness) won the Subsidiary Cup, and Team Dadan (Mia Cambiaso, HRH Prince Abbas bin Ali, and Miguel Morel) secured the Wooden Spoon Cup.
With a 14% increase in attendance, this year’s tournament reinforced its status as a premier event on Saudi Arabia’s sporting and social calendars, further establishing AlUla as a leading destination for sport and tourism.
